CUB SCOUT RANKS
Cub Scouts progress through the following Ranks in their Cub Scout career depending
on when they join Cub Scouts with the exception of Bobcat. Bobcat is a joining rank
and all scouts will earn this rank no matter when they join.

Tiger Cub (1st grade)
The Tiger Cub badge is the first badge earned by a Tiger Cub. Earning it involves knowing the Tiger Cub motto, and
commpleting 15 requirements within 5 achievement areas. You’ll find the requirements and electives in his handbook.

Bobcat
 All (2nd - 5th) grade boys earn the Bobcat badge upon joining, if they did not earn it at the end of the Tiger year. They learn
the Cub Scout Promise, Law of the Pack, handshake, salute, sign, motto and the meaning of “Webelos.” After receiving the Bobcat Badge, the boy works on requirements based on his grade or age.

Wolf
A Cub Scout who has completed 1st grade works on 12 achievements to earn the Wolf Badge. After he earns his wolf badge, he may work on electives in different areas and
earn arrow points. A Cub Scout may earn as many arrow points as time and inclination allow.

Bear
A Cub Scout who has completed 2nd grade completes 12 of 24 achievements to earn the Bear Badge. After he earns his Bear Badge, he may work on electives in different
areas until he is old enough to begin work on the next rank. For every 10 electives a boy completes, he earns an Arrow
Point. A boy may earn as many arrow points as he wishes.

Weblos
When a Cub Scout has completed the 3rd grade, he transfers to a Webelos Den. The boy works on requirements for the Webelos Badge, 20 activity badges
and the Arrow of Light Award (the highest award in Cub Scouting) which prepares him for Boy Scouting.
